2 Peter 1:13-15 (NLT)

13 Yes, I believe I should keep on reminding you of these things as long as I live. 14 But the Lord Jesus Christ has shown me that my days here on earth are numbered and I am soon to die. 15 So I will work hard to make these things clear to you. I want you to remember them long after I am gone.

Here is a thought. We all know that someday we will all die, unless the Lord returns to take us home before then.
But what if He waits another 60 years? In 60 years I'll be over 100 years of age and probably won't be here. But what if the Lord does return in 60 years? Then we would be the last generation to tell those who will be here, about Jesus.
We never seem to think about that, we always are looking for the Lord's return, and we should be, but do we plan for the chance that He wont return in our lifetime?
Are we preparing our children for His return?
In sixty years I probably won't be here. In 60 years my children will be in their 60's
Will they have spent those 60 years following Jesus?
We may very well be the last generation before Jesus returns, what are we going to do with it?
How will our children remember us as those who love Jesus or more important what will they think of Jesus?
I know this doesn't sound like something fun to think about since Christmas is coming up and we just had Thanksgiving.
But during these times, look at all those young children in your family and ask yourself if they will be ready if Jesus returns in 60 years or even today!
Or maybe the question should be, are you ready if He returned today?
