Gal 1:3-5

3 Grace to you and peace from God the Father and our Lord Jesus Christ, 4 who gave Himself for our sins, that He might deliver us from this present evil age, according to the will of our God and Father, 5 to whom be glory forever and ever. Amen.

People all over the world are trying to find peace here on earth.
They want to find comfort in times of trouble and most want the world to be a better place.

The thing is, they try to create that peace themselves or seek another person to do it.
But today's verses tell us that peace only comes from God and Jesus Christ who died for our sins.
Usually there is no peace in a person's life because of the sins that they commit, that's why it says that Jesus gave Himself for our sins.
People think that there is comfort in giving money to pay for their sins. Some will buy off their own spouse or children when they mess up, thinking that that will cover their wrong.
But it never works.
The only real peace comes from Jesus Christ, which surpasses all understanding.

Phil 4:7 and the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.

As Christians we wonder why they continue to seek other ways for peace.
But we seem to forget that we also were like that ourselves, seeking peace, joy and happiness in the things of the world.
But thanks be to God, who gave His Son for us, we now have a peace like the world does not have.

So next time someone asks you why you are always so calm during situations. Just tell them you have the peace of God, and that peace is in knowing that no matter what is happening, you have God with you and that you will be in heaven with Jesus someday because He died for your sins.
Then remind them that Jesus died for their sins too, and they can also have the same peace and hope that you have through Jesus Christ!
