with God

John 10:25 & 30

25 Jesus answered them, "I told you, and you do not believe. The works that I do in My Father's name, they bear witness of Me.
30 "I and My Father are one."

Who is God and who is Jesus?
Let's get a little more personal, who are God and Jesus to you?

Everyone throughout the world has heard of the names God and Jesus.
But who are they to you?

Some say that Jesus was a prophet; some say He was just a good man who walked the earth, or maybe he is just a little baby in a manger on Christmas day to you.
Some say that God is in all things, in the flowers and trees. Some say that God is Buddha or Mohamed.

God tells us in His word Who He is.

  • Ex 3:14 And God said to Moses, "I AM WHO I AM." And He said, "Thus you shall say to the children of Israel, 'I AM has sent me to you.' "

  • God was telling Moses to tell His people that He is what they need. Notice He didn't say, "I was" or "will be", but I AM. Meaning right now at this moment.

  • Gen 1:1 In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth.

  • God also created all things (including you) but He's not in all things.

Jesus also tells us who He is in today's verse

  • John 10:30 "I and My Father are one."

  • So if God is what you need right now at this moment, then you need Jesus right at this moment.

"What has God or Jesus ever done for me?" you may be thinking.

  • John 3:16-17 16 "For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life. 17 "For God did not send His Son into the world to condemn the world, but that the world through Him might be saved.

  • God made the ultimate sacrifice for you, His Son Jesus.
"So what" you may be thinking.
Jesus tells us why it was so important for Him to be a sacrifice for you!

  • John 14:6 Jesus said to him, "I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through Me.

  • This simply means that the only way to heaven is through Jesus Christ.
"I believe in God and Jesus too." You may be saying to yourself.

  • James 2:19 You believe that there is one God. You do well. Even the demons believe--and tremble!

  • A lot of people who say they believe in God and/or Jesus also use Their names in vain.
It's not enough to just believe as James said that even the demons believe, but they also tremble at the thought of God and Jesus.
When you use God or Jesus' name in vain there is no fear in you of God. And there is no relationship with God or Jesus either.

And that's what it all comes down to, having a relationship with Jesus.
The title of Christian, Catholic, Protestant or whatever religion you want to name, will not save you. No, you are only saved through Jesus Christ who died for your sins, all of them, no matter what you did or how much you cursed and rejected Jesus.

He still loves you anyway, and He even knew you would reject Him all this time, but still He died for you.

The final question is, who will you now make God and Jesus in your life?
Will you continue to use their names as curse words, or will you today seek Jesus and be saved?

  • Acts 4:12 "Nor is there salvation in any other, for there is no other name under heaven given among men by which we must be saved."

  • Today call out to Jesus and be saved.

  • 2 Cor 6:2 For He says:
"In an acceptable time I have heard you,
And in the day of salvation I have helped you."
Behold, now is the accepted time; behold, now is the day of salvation.
