Acts 8:26-29

26 Now an angel of the Lord spoke to Philip, saying, "Arise and go toward the south along the road which goes down from Jerusalem to Gaza." This is desert. 27 So he arose and went. And behold, a man of Ethiopia, a eunuch of great authority under Candace the queen of the Ethiopians, who had charge of all her treasury, and had come to Jerusalem to worship, 28 was returning. And sitting in his chariot, he was reading Isaiah the prophet. 29 Then the Spirit said to Philip, "Go near and overtake this chariot."

When I was reading this portion of scripture today, one thing popped out at me.
If you will notice the Eunuch was in charge of the queen's money. Basically he would help determine where, and to whom the money went.

Today as Christians we think of famous people and how great it would be if they were Christians and how much they could do to further the kingdom of God.
Or we think of people who have lots of money and how great it would be to have them in the church to help out financially.

But the intent of the verses here is not the fact that this was a person who could help out the church financially, but rather just a normal person who needed Jesus.

We shouldn't think of others as what they can do in our churches, or how great they could further the kingdom of God, but rather we need to think of them as someone who needs Jesus and without Him they will go the hell for all eternity.

I don't know about you, but for me if it were based on my financial ability or how famous I was, no one would have ever witnessed to me.

I'm thankful that God didn't see me for what I had or my abilities, but rather on what His Son Jesus has done for me and how He loves me for who I am!
